Club Information

Doonbeg Football Club was founded in 1954 when the three clubs in our parish, Clohanes, Doonbeg and Bealaha, came together to form one club. The club had instant success winning our first Senior Football Championship in 1955. On two occasions Doonbeg have won a much coveted ‘Three-in-a-Row’ of Clare Senior Football Championships (1967,68,69 and 1972,73,74). However, our club’s most memorable day came in December of 1998 when we became the first club outside of Cork and Kerry to win the Munster Club Football Championship. This was a truly remarkable achievement. In total, Doonbeg have won 1 Munster Senior Football Championship, 18 Clare Senior Football Championships, 17 Cusack Cup Titles along with 3 U-21 ‘A’ County Championships and 3 Minor ‘A’ County Championships. We are committed to promoting Gaelic football in our community.
